Fund Raising: Hot Lunch Program
Hot Lunch Program | Print |

The Hot Lunch Program at Maple Grove is designed to help ensure that our children have a fresh and nutritional lunch every day.  Here is an excerpt from an article on health eating for kids:

"When children eat school lunch, they are more likely to consume milk, meats, grains and vegetables compared to students who don't, including students who bring lunch from home. They also have higher nutrient intakes — both at lunch and over the course of an entire day. And cost-wise, school lunch is at a great value. A typical school lunch contains an entree, two servings of fruits and vegetables, a grain item and milk. From children to parents to teachers, everyone benefits when kids eat school lunch!"

This is an "opt-in" program that is run on a monthly basis.  The proceeds go to the PAC to support other great programs for our kids.

The menu details are available from the school website (http://maplegrove.vsb.bc.ca/Parent/hotlunch.htm).

If you have questions about the program, please speak with your child's teacher.
