SAFE ARRIVAL is a program run by parent volunteers who come into the main office from 9:00 to 9:45 every morning.  Volunteers check the attendance submitted by teachers.

If a child is absent, the parents have not phoned the school, and the teacher does not know why, the Safe Arrival volunteer calls the child's home to verify that the child is accounted for.

One benefit of the job for parent volunteers is that they learn more about the school and meet some of the staff. The real benefit, however, is knowing that they are making a difference by assuring the safety of all the children at the school. Safe Arrival is up and running as of October 8. We currently have about 12 volunteers, but more would make it much easier.
